Correct Ways to Store and Transport Wire Cables

Here are some ways to store and transport wire cables

1. During storage, wire cable can not place with acidic, alkaline and corrosive substances, and it shall be stored separately. Insulated wire cables shall be stored in a dry and ventilated warehouse with a suitable temperature of 5-30 ℃ and a relative humidity of no more than 75%. The window towards sun of shall be painted with white paint to avoid direct sunlight and premature aging of the insulating layer.

2. There shall be no harmful gas that can damage the insulation layer or corrode the conductor around the wire cable storage place.

3. Avoid storing in the open air to prevent accidental damage.

4. A small batch of wire cables can be stacked in the shelf, and the stack height should be 5-10 rolls. Large quantities of wires can be stacked into plum shaped ventilated circular stacks. Single core wires and cables can be appropriately high. The stack height is 2m in spring and winter and 1.5m in summer and autumn. During stacking, sleepers shall be padded under the pallets, wooden boards shall be paved on the sleepers, two layers of moisture-proof paper shall be added, and good ventilation shall be maintained. During the storage of wires and cables, generally, the stacking shall be reversed once every three months, and the upper and lower layers shall be replaced and stacked to prevent the lower layer from long-term compression and deformation. During storage, always check whether the sealed packaging of wires and cables is intact.

5. The storage period of wire cables shall be subject to the ex factory date of the product. Generally, the storage period shall not exceed one and a half years, and the longest shall not exceed two years. During storage, pay attention to the changes of temperature and humidity. If the temperature in the warehouse exceeds 30 ℃, take cooling measures immediately. If the relative humidity reaches 75% for three consecutive days, desiccant shall be used or other measures shall be taken to absorb moisture and reduce humidity.

6. It is strictly prohibited to drop wire cables from height during transportation to avoid cracking of insulation layer and sheath layer and damaging the electrical and mechanical properties of wires and cables.
